The Winter is part of the 4 Seasons tile series, each with unique illustrations. It's especially cold in winter, so we'll be keeping a close eye on the Waylayers to make sure they don't freeze!
Scoring points (base game variation)
For highwaymen and autumn tiles that are vertically, horizontally or diagonally adjacent to the winter tile you have placed, you immediately receive 2 points. You receive no points for the winter tile you just placed.
Scoring points (Winter-Edition Variation)
For highwaymen and wild animals that are vertically, horizontally or diagonally adjacent to the winter tile you have placed, you immediately receive 2 points.
Statue tiles
You will find one statue tile in the Winter season mini-expansion. If your tile this turn is vertically, horizontally or diagonally adjacent to a statue tile, you may place two meeples on this one tile in different areas.

Please note - the tile artwork matches the later editions of Carcassonne. While the backs of the tiles are the same, the artwork on the tile fronts will not match with editions published before 2015.
How to tell which version you have? If the city artwork on your tiles contains both red and blue roofs, then you have the newer artwork (2015 to the present). If your cities contain only red roofs, then you have the older versions (pre-2015).
